We Launched Upton-by-Chester High School’s Web Archive

It’s been fifty years in the making, and finally Upton-by-Chester High School’s fantastic web archive is live.

UptonFifty is the new website, powered by Roodee Web Design and funded by the Lottery Heritage Fund, that features interviews, photos, reports, and print that was collated by the teachers and pupils of the High School to mark the school’s half-century.

A micro-site was launched in January 2019 to invite anyone with a connection to the school to get in touch. Interviews were recorded by the pupils and loaded onto the website, providing a rich, local, historical resource for years to come.

The main website was officially launched at an exhibition event held at the school on Friday 11th July 2019 attended by VIP’s including Chester MP Chris Matheson, Deputy Lord Mayor of Chester Cllr Martyn Delaney, Michael Bird Head of Initial Teacher Education at University of Chester, Upton-by-Chester High School Headteacher Paula Dixon and many past and present pupils of the school.
