How a Simple Scarecrow Became a Masterclass in Community PR
Wynne Construction isn’t a client of ours, but we spotted their recent gesture in Great Sutton – enroute from our base in Chester to a web design client in Ellesmere Port – and felt it’s worth highlighting some PR that really stood out.
Major building projects often bring months of disruption, but Wynne have flipped things round, leaving a positive impression.
As they completed the new Medical Centre and Village Hall, rather than simply packing up and leaving, they joined neighboring Little Sutton’s annual scarecrow festival, and created their own scarecrow dressed in high-vis gear and a hard hat, holding a “Work Complete” sign.

Over 18 months of construction, locals saw major changes to their area. By ending with this friendly scarecrow, Wynne crossed the finish line on a positive and proves the point that great marketing and PR isn’t always about campaigns or slogans.
