Bellis Brothers Garden Centre
Web Redesign, Newsletter, Point Of Sale Design, Facebook and Website Video
This is the new site we designed for Bellis Brothers, an established Pick Your Own Farm that is a household name throughout Chester and Wrexham. The profile of Bellis’ Garden Centre and Restaurant needed to be raised, so we used a wide range of tools to achieve this.
The website was always going to be the ‘end point’ of any on-line and off-line marketing effort, and we made sure this had an easy to use navigation and good, rich content with lots of photos to show off the range of products available, and plenty of web video for their loyal and enthusiastic customer base to follow throughout the year.
Working alongside our other clients, Dee 106.3, we devised a campaign and produced the radio commercial that would drive radio listeners to the newsletter sign up page that we created on Bellis’ website and Facebook page. The subscribers to the database have opted to receive the company’s newsletters by email and post.
There is a growing collection of videos that are constantly being added to the site. We have filmed ‘sweeps’ of the garden centre’s plant area, strawberry growing in the ‘Pick Your Own’ fields, harvesting, and lots of advice from staff.
He have designed a range of stationery and a series of templates to be used around the retail business. We drew out the icon, a strawberry, as a vector image in Illustrator. Our client uses the template that we created to generate point of sale (POS) cards, aisle end displays and other in-store printed promotions.
We designed an email newsletter template to complement the website, and we manage all email broadcasts to the very sizeable database that has been built up since the launch of the website.
We produce a quarterly printed newsletter, featuring exclusive offers, the latest news from the business, and a busy What’s On section.
A large number of constantly changing product photos are required. We undertake all photography in-house and are continually photographing new products, food, fresh produce, agricultural activities and events.
Facebook and Social Media
We spent a lot of time talking to Bellis’ customers, and it was clear that their customers were very loyal and very enthusiastic about every aspect of the business. By setting up a Facebook page that immediately invites visitors to ‘click like if they love strawberries’, the number of followers rapidly grew. The Facebook page is an ideal place for customers to ask questions and for the business to show that they enjoy listening to and interacting with their customers.
Search Engine Optimisation
The site is on target for all of its phrases and is attracting lots of local, relevant traffic with a carefully planned Search Engine Optimisation campaign. The website is updated regularly, and we paid close attention to the way it is structured. Google is indexing all the of the content efficiently.
A long term strategy of generating strong relevant content written for humans instead of search engines will be a worthwhile investment as Google continues to penalise sites that stuff keywords onto their pages to gain a position.
